Project Overview
As part of the UX research team, I developed a usability testing plan for Google Pay, focusing on a peer-to-merchant payment application facing usability issues. This plan outlines the research aims and goals, participant requirements, and methodologies.
It includes a detailed approach to analysing results and defining next steps. The goal is to observe real users completing tasks to identify navigation issues and improve the app's overall functionality, ensuring a smooth user experience and reducing the likelihood of users turning to competitors.
The Task & Challenge
I selected Google Pay for developing a usability testing plan due to recurring concerns about transaction failures experienced by users, including myself. Many users express anxiety and frustration when a payment fails, worrying about being charged multiple times if they attempt to pay again.
This issue highlighted the need for a comprehensive usability assessment to address these concerns and enhance the overall user experience with the payment application.
